Job Description: This position reports to the Commander/Manager of Regional Communications and in his/her absence the Communications Superintendent/Deputy. The roles and responsibilities include working in concert with call-evaluators and communication deployment specialists, while working within the EMD scope of practice. This employee will provide IFT processing, emergency medical dispatching, pre-arrival instructions and deployment of emergency vehicles in emergent and non-emergent situations.

Education

  • Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification
  • Grade 12
  • certification as a Basic Telecommunicator with the Association of Public Safety

Other Education and Training

  • Current CPR Level C

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Minimum typing (keyboarding) speed of 40 wpm.
