Full Time Permanent
Monday to Friday – 7 hours/day

Bigstone Health Commission is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and dependable Bigstone Health Benefits Manager to join our talented Health Team. Position Summary
The Bigstone Health Benefits Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Bigstone Health Benefits program, ensuring efficient service delivery and quality support for Bigstone Cree Nation members. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the Health Benefits team, advocate for client access to healthcare and benefits, and support program development, reporting, and policy implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the Bigstone Health Benefits program to ensure effective and successful service delivery.
- Advocate for Bigstone Cree Nation clients regarding access to healthcare services and benefits.
- Supervise, mentor, and support the Bigstone Health Benefits team.
- Prepare and provide program activity reports and related information.
- Maintain strong working relationships and partnerships with clients, service providers, and partner organizations.
- Respond to member inquiries related to eligibility, approvals, denials, and Health Benefits policies.
- Support staff with member cases, policy interpretation, denials, and implementation procedures.
- Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive member situations.
- Travel as required.
Qualifications
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Business Management, Health Administration, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of adjudication experience and at least 3 years of supervisory or team management experience.
- Strong knowledge of the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital systems; experience working with First Nations communities is considered an asset.
- Certified First Nations Health Management Certificate is considered an asset.
- Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
