About the role
The Physiotherapist is responsible for providing patient care to referred inpatients to assist them to regain physical and functional ability. Physiotherapists are involved in the education of patients/families, colleagues, other team members and students. Physiotherapists may serve as consultants to colleagues, individual team members, other departments, facilities or agencies
Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Active membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association is preferred
- Current CPR certification is preferred
- Recent experience working with geriatric, critically ill, neurological and cardiorespiratory inpatients
- Strong clinical reasoning and caseload management skills
- Familiarity with Meditech an asset
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to maintain professional standards of practice and clinical competencies according to College guidelines and participate in continuing education in order to upgrade skills and keep abreast of new developments in rehabilitation
- Demonstrated ability to interact with patients, families and other members of the health care team in an effective, professional, safe, positive caring manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving
- Demonstrated leadership, time management and organizational skills.
