As a member of Canadian Natural Fire Department, you will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our oil sands site through emergency response, community education and continuous training. - Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta - Horizon or Albian Oil Sands
- Shift schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, 12-hour shifts (rotating days/nights)
- Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver high-quality BLS/ALS medical response in accordance with established protocols
- Ensure effective emergency response by applying professional skills, sound judgment, and appropriate techniques at all emergency scenes
- Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and general readiness of fire apparatus and related emergency response equipment
- Conduct fire code inspections of site facilities and participate in site pre-fire planning activities
- Demonstrate strong leadership and contribute to the training and development of emergency response members
What You Bring to the Role:
- Must have prior experience working as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) and be in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics with active registration
- Must have NFPA 1001 Level II Firefighter Certification (Pro-board or IFSAC accreditation)
- Must have NFPA 472 Hazmat Awareness & Operations (Pro-board or IFSAC accreditation)
- Preference will be given to candidates with firefighter experience
- Valid Class 2/3 and 4 with Air brakes (Q) endorsement driver’s license or another provincial equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential duties of firefighting and emergency medical response including lifting, carrying, and operating heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined or hazardous environments while wearing personal protective equipment
- Successful candidates may be required to pass a physical fitness assessment as a condition of employment
