About the role

Interior Health is seeking a permanent full time Leader, Accreditation who is confident connecting with leaders across the organization, supporting accreditation readiness, and guiding teams through standards, criteria, and practice tracers. Salary range for the position is $76,111 to $109,409. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How Will You Create An Impact

The Leader, Accreditation (Leader) is responsible for all aspects of planning, coordinating, and organizing key deliverables identified by Accreditation Canada or the Diagnostic Accreditation Program and undertaken by the organization in carrying out its goal to achieve accredited status throughout Interior Health (IH). Reporting to and under the direction of the Director, Clinical Governance & Accreditation, the Leader, Accreditation supports the planning, implementation, and/or coordination of the accreditation preparation and survey/assessment process. This includes leading IH in self-evaluation activities and supporting improvement initiatives associated with meeting Accreditation Canada Standards, Diagnostic Accreditation Program Standards, and/or the requirements of other applicable accrediting bodies.

The Leader works with partners at all levels across IH to build relationships and knowledge-sharing capacity, ensuring that staff are informed of accreditation activities that impact their responsibilities. The Leader provides strong, consistent leadership and focuses on coordinating existing Quality Teams and IH-wide committees to meet Accreditation Standards to ensure that documentation and required reports are completed according to established timelines. The Leader maintains current knowledge of new developments, trends, and research in accreditation and collaborates with counterparts in other Health Authorities and organizations to share information and best practices. The Leader performs other duties as directed by the Director.

What Will You Work On

Demonstrates leadership and promotes excellence in achieving and maintaining Accreditation standards and patient safety goals throughout the Health Authority. Represents the Health Authority as liaison with Accreditation Canada and/or the Diagnostic Accreditation Program and various quality service teams and committees as necessary. Works collaboratively with Managers, staff, and physicians to promote effectiveness, efficiency, accountability, and sustainability of IH health services in order to comply with Diagnostic Accreditation Program standards, national Accreditation Canada standards, or standards from other accrediting bodies. Collaborates with internal and external partners to share Accreditation knowledge to incorporate current better practices in health service delivery. Provides support for quality improvement activities, as directed, to address organizational priorities. In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately. Performs other duties as assigned.
