About the Toronto Holocaust Museum The Toronto Holocaust Museum (THM) is a space for education and dialogue about the Holocaust and its ongoing relevance. Through its programs and experiences, it deepens public understanding and inspires visitors to make connections between the Holocaust, world events, and contemporary Canadian life. The Toronto Holocaust Museum is a department of UJA Federation of Greater Toronto. About UJA Federation of Greater Toronto As one of North America’s leading Jewish non-profits, UJA Federation of Greater Toronto works to preserve and strengthen the quality of Jewish life in Greater Toronto, Canada, Israel and around the world. UJA advances this mission through fundraising, programs, and research focused on our strategic pillars: fighting poverty and improving well-being, growing Jewish education and identity, countering antisemitism and hate, and strengthening connections with Israel and Jewish communities worldwide. About the Opportunity The Toronto Holocaust Museum seeks an Associate Director of Education to oversee the Museum’s Education department functions including school visits, teacher professional development, education resources, and museum educator management. The Associate Director of Education leads department efforts to make the Toronto Holocaust Museum the province’s recognized leader in Holocaust education. They will champion best practices in Holocaust education, experimental and innovative thinking, and fresh approaches to engaging school audiences. They will ensure that learning at the THM is grounded in Holocaust scholarship while drawing out the relevance of the Holocaust today and its explicit connections to current antisemitism. They will also ensure that learning at the THM expands understanding of who Jews are, past and present. We believe that high impact Holocaust education that is relevant to the world we live in today can inspire discussion and behavioural change around contemporary ansitsemitism and all forms of hate. This is a highly attractive opportunity to work in a senior position at a new state-of-the-art institution and the first Holocaust museum in Canada designed for the post-survivor period.
