Job Requirements

Registered with the College of ECEs and a member in good standing

1 - 3 years of experience in the child care field

Current First Aid and CPR-C

Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Check within 6 months **or current based on employment

Immunizations are up-to-date as per Medical Officer of Health

Asset – Safe Food Handler Certification

Asset – Child Care and Early Years Act Self-Test – Schedule 1

Competencies

Ensure that the program complies with all Ministry of Education requirements Understanding and implementing How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years Complying with Way To Learn Daycare’s Policies and Procedures Ensure the child care centres’ environment meets health and safety standards Encourage and support active family involvement Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with colleagues Develop and maintain a warm, caring and responsive relationship with every child and with the group of children Adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of practice by recognizing professionalism and balancing one’s personal and work roles

Job Description

The Registered Early Childhood Educator Supervisor will adhere to all governing bodies, including the Ministry of Education, the Child Care and Early Years Act, and, the College of Early Childhood Educators Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice. To provide a nurturing, safe, and educational environment for all children and their families at Way To Learn Daycare. To work collaboratively with the Child Care Team to deliver a quality child care program and to ensure the implementation of Way To Learn Daycare’s Program Statement and Policies and Procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities related to licensing

Ensure that the centre complies with all Ministry of Education requirements Support Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) and Educators of Young Children with understanding and implementing How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years Ensure that the centre complies with Way To Learn Daycare’s Policies and Procedures

Roles and Responsibilities related to daily practices

Adhere to daily requirements, as determined by Way To Learn Daycare, Niagara Region Children’s Services, Ministry of Education, Niagara Region Public Health, and other Third-Party Agencies Ensure the child care centres’ environment meets health and safety standards Encourage and support active family involvement Adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of practice by recognizing professionalism and balancing one’s personal and work roles
