The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the National Spinal Injuries Unit for a Clinical Educator.
This role focuses on leading staff education and practice development within the specialist field of spinal injuries, supporting the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care across acute rehabilitation inpatient and outpatient settings.
You will work collaboratively with spinal injury services nationally and internationally, as well as neuro-rehabilitation, neurology, and neurosurgery teams, to enhance patient care and promote best practice.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
This is a permanent post working part time hours (18) These hours will be worked 2.5 shifts over Monday to Friday to meet educational priorities/ shared with joint 18hrs post holder This post will be based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead on all aspects of staff education and practice development within the specialist field of spinal injuries while supporting the development of both new and existing staff, students, and primary care professionals involved in the care of patients with spinal injuries.
Working closely with the Lead Nurse and Senior Charge Nurses, the successful candidate will ensure clinical practice remains evidence-based and aligned with current standards and nursing strategy.
The role includes leading, facilitating, and implementing new initiatives, supporting the review and development of clinical protocols and pathways, and promoting robust clinical governance.
You will also identify, develop, and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes while fostering collaborative working with specialist services across the UK and internationally.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
First Level Registered Nurse with current professional registration. Educated to degree level. Significant post-registration experience. Essential experience within spinal injuries and/or neurology services. Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practice and clinical governance. Experience of education, training, and practice development. Ability to lead and implement service improvement initiatives. Understanding of local and strategic healthcare priorities. Excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative working skills. Ability to support staff development and maintain high standards of specialist knowledge and mandatory training compliance.
