About the role
We?re a busy ophthalmology practice in downtown Victoria looking for a reliable, organized, and professional individual to join our close-knit team. As our MOA, you will be the first point of contact for our patients (in person and by phone) and will keep day-to-day clinic operations running smoothly. You will work closely with the clinic staff to support patient care.
SCHEDULE
- Monday to Friday, ~35hrs/week
- Flexibility appreciated on days when the clinic runs late or is on call
- Optional weekend shifts (when we are on call) available for those who want them
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage reception, including greeting patients, answering phones, triaging messages and incoming faxes
- Schedule and follow up on appointments and diagnostic tests
- Process referrals and communicate with other medical offices
- Maintain accurate EMR (i.e. input patient demographics, etc.)
- Work alongside our ophthalmic technicians to support patient care, including assisting with prescription refill requests and other clinical administrative tasks
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency with EMR required (preferably Accuro)
- Previous medical office experience
- Familiarity with ophthalmology or specialist clinic workflows is an asset
- Strong communicator who is organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
- Professional, empathetic, and patient-focused manner
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information
- Reliable, punctual, and a true team player
- MOA certification would be an asset but not required
