About the role

Sanavie is looking for a Reimbursement Associate to help optimize billing and claims processes. In this role, you’ll combine expertise in medical billing with customer service and data analysis to ensure reimbursements are handled with speed, accuracy, and care. The Reimbursement Associate will play a key role in supporting patients, providers, and insurers, helping Sanavie streamline financial workflows while improving the patient experience. This is a detail-focused, high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of healthcare, billing, and customer care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Out‑of‑Pocket (OOP) transfers within expected timelines.
  • Actively follow up on unpaid accounts receivable (AR) by calling, sending emails, and texting patients about outstanding balances.
  • Document and follow up on commitments made by patients.
  • Complete basic CRBs (reimbursement case reviews/requests) with minimal errors.
  • Respond to reimbursement‑related questions from other departments through our Teams channels, seeking guidance from teammates or your supervisor when needed.
  • Follow up with RAMQ and private insurers on special approval requests and update patient support programs (PSPs) as needed.
  • Speak with insurance agents in a professional and informed way so files aren’t restarted or delayed due to misunderstandings.
  • Participate in conference calls with patients and insurance agents to resolve billing issues or request contribution letters, maintaining clear and empathetic communication.
  • Learn to manage changes in patient coverage (public/private, new plans, loss of coverage) step by step, from start to finish.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in medical billing, claims, or reimbursement.
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance systems (asset), medical coding (asset), and claims processing.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Proficiency with billing software (asset) and MS Office.
  • Ability to work in both French and English (oral and written).
