PERMANENT RELIEF JOB POSTING Posting Number: D291 Union: CUPE Date: May 20, 2026 Classification: Cook Department: DIETARY Status: Relief no guaranteed hours Pay Grade: As Per Union Agreement Availability Required: 30% availability Positions: 2 positions available Job Summary: Under the direction of the Cook/Working Supervisor, the employee will prepare food items, cook meals, set up serving area and serve food. The employee will clean equipment and work area, receive and store food supplies, rotate stock, open and close kitchen. The employee will ensure quality control, orientate new staff in the area, prioritize and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with standards and regulations. Qualifications: Grade X education, Journeyperson Cook certificate (900 classroom hours), thirty (30) months previous experience which includes twenty-four (24) months apprenticeship time (4500 hours), plus six (6) months post-ticket experience working in an institutional setting.
