The MCRT is based on the Memphis Model which is a collaborative approach whereby police and mental health professionals, together, respond to mental health crises in the community. The incumbent will work closely with police agencies in the implementation and ongoing operations of the service. Additionally, The Social Worker III provides single-session therapy using a broad range of single-session, brief intervention, and postmodern theoretical frameworks and conducts professional analysis of complex situations. The Social Worker III will mentor and provide consultation to clinicians of the Mental Health and Addictions Program who offer single-session walk-in services. This position exercises a significant degree of independent clinical judgment in providing appropriate clinical consultation to other clinic team members and in developing take away treatment plans for individuals. It is also expected that field instruction will be provided for Social Work students.
