Alberta Cardiology Medical Consultants Inc. prides themselves in maintaining a professional, collegial setting equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies such as cardiovascular diagnostic services, including Myocardial Perfusion Imaging, Echocardiograms, Carotid Ultrasound, Exercise Stress Testing, Holter Monitoring and Electrocardiograms (ECG).
Job Duties

Perform high-quality echocardiographic examinations, ensuring diagnostic accuracy.

Set up, calibrate, and maintain imaging systems to ensure optimal image quality and safe operation.

Monitor patient condition throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes.

Record observations, measurements, and preliminary impressions in patient charts and digital imaging systems.

Generate preliminary reports for Cardiologist review.

Confirm patient identification and explain procedures clearly to patients.

Maintain patient safety, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.

Maintain and troubleshoot equipment according to departmental standards.

Prepare and maintain clean, sterile and fully equipped examination rooms.

Collaborate effectively with physicians, technologists, and administrative staff.

May perform sonographer other duties as assigned.
Employment Requirements
Education
- Completion of bachelor’s degree in medicine, echocardiography or related field.
Licensing
-
Active registration with Sonography Canada.

Licensed with Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Experience
-
Minimum one year of experience performing echocardiograms.

Some experience with contrast echocardiography (agitated saline and contrast agents).
Language of Work
- English language ability.
Skills

Ability to use GE ultrasound equipment, Philips ultrasound equipment and GE and Norav systems.

Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
