MatchBox Consulting Group is partnering with a well-established General Contractor to hire an Estimator for its growing preconstruction team. This organization has built an outstanding reputation delivering healthcare, commercial tenant improvement, hospitality, retail, and institutional renovation projects throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
This role offers the chance to work closely with senior preconstruction leadership while taking ownership of a diverse portfolio of negotiated and competitive projects valued from $100K to $20M. Responsibilities
Prepare accurate construction cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Complete quantity take-offs and detailed pricing. Analyze tender submissions and recommend subcontractor awards. Develop conceptual budgets from Class D through Class A. Participate in value engineering initiatives. Prepare construction schedules when required. Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings. Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients. Support both stipulated sum tenders and Construction Management proposals. Manage multiple estimates while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
5+ years of estimating experience with a commercial General Contractor, or a strong junior estimator seeking long-term growth. Experience estimating healthcare renovation projects is required. Commercial tenant improvement and renovation estimating experience. Strong understanding of renovation sequencing, building systems, and interior construction. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to prioritize multiple pursuits in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, and Microsoft Excel. Experience with MS Project is considered an asset.
