Your Opportunity Stantec’s aquatic ecology work in Atlantic Canada extends from the energetic marine environment in the Bay of Fundy to the barrens of Newfoundland and Labrador, supporting the sustainable development of mining, power, transportation, and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone who combines hands-on field expertise with strong data analysis, interpretation, and reporting skills, and thrives working on diverse, team-driven projects. Your Key Responsibilities Lead and support aquatic field programs, including fish, fish habitat, benthic invertebrates, water quality, and sediment quality surveys for a variety of projects, in accordance with provincial and federal guidance and Stantec standard methods. Manage, analyze, and interpret biological and chemical data, including fish, fish tissue, benthic invertebrates, water quality, and sediment quality data. Conduct statistical analyses to evaluate spatial and temporal trends, significant differences, and guideline exceedances. Prepare technical reports, field summaries, and supporting documentation for environmental assessments, permitting, and regulatory submissions. Prepare or support permit applications, including Fisheries Act Requests for Review or Authorization applications and provincial watercourse alteration applications. Lead and/or support proposal development, business development activities, and client or community engagement initiatives. Actively participate in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment Program and follow Stantec’s safe work practices during field and office work. Support other environmental service areas depending on project needs, interests, and abilities. Travel, evening, weekend, and remote field work may be required.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
