Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant
About the role
Sinai Health is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) to support our Rehabilitation Department at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.
The OTA/PTAs are part of the dynamic Rehabilitation department team and the duties are primarily clinical.
In This Role You Will
Assist the Physiotherapist with direct patient care activities including lifts, transfers and ambulation Supervise patients and ensure completion of routine exercise programs and apply simple local treatment modalities Document in the patient chart in keeping with the documentation policies of Sinai Health System and the RHPA Maintain therapeutic equipment Record workload measurement activities Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required
Job Requirements
Mandatory
Graduate of an accredited community college occupational therapy/physiotherapy assistant program 1 year of experience in acute care
Skills and Knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) internet and ability to work with computerized databases Demonstrates organizational skills Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates initiative and problem solving skills Works independently as well as with team Demonstrates satisfactory work performance and attendance history
