St. Joseph's Health Centre is a Catholic community teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto that has served the communities of West Toronto and beyond for over a century. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Outpatient and Inpatient EEG testing, including ICU patients
  • Outpatient and Inpatient EMG and EP testing

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Canadian Board certified in electroencephalography (EEG) OR Canadian Board eligible by virtue of completion of formal EEG training in Canada (BCIT or La Cite) is required
  • Nerve Conduction Test Capable. Canadian Board Certification in EMG would be a strong asset
  • Thorough understanding of anatomy and neurophysiology skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, managing competing priorities in a busy environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other professions / disciplines in a team environment

All full time technologists are expected to participate in both EMG (NCS) and EEG testing. If not EEG or EMG certified at the time of hiring, they will be expected to achieve certification within a reasonable time period after hiring. The successful candidate will become part of a team of supportive and collegial technologists who carry out neurophysiology testing at a high level of skill in a stimulating academic setting with opportunity for research, self-improvement, and teaching future technologists.
