As a Facilities Supervisor at Providence Health Care, you'll play a key role in supporting the operation of our healthcare facilities and preparing for the opening of the new St. Paul's Hospital in 2027. You'll lead maintenance teams, oversee projects, and help ensure critical building systems remain safe, reliable, and compliant. Five (5) to seven (7) years recent, related experience including a minimum of two (2) years direct supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to lead and inspire staff, and build a team environment that fosters trust and respect. Strong organizational, interpersonal, customer relations, communication and facilitation skills to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Possesses business acumen and analytical skills to anticipate financial and business requirements and ensure effective use of resources. Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance and construction projects within a large complex health care environment. Comprehensive knowledge of working relationships and trades needs in a maintenance department within a hospital setting. Demonstrated ability to investigate issues and develop various options for resolutions. Demonstrated ability to operate current computer applications such as AutoCAD, word processing, database, spreadsheet, and maintenance management systems. Your Day to Day: Leading, supervising, and supporting maintenance staff responsible for the operation and upkeep of buildings, building systems, grounds, equipment, and hardware Managing employee performance, workforce planning, recruitment, training, and labour relations matters, including grievances and disciplinary processes Overseeing preventative maintenance programs and maintaining the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure work is planned, scheduled, and completed efficiently Monitoring daily maintenance activities to ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements, safety regulations, applicable codes, and organizational standards Coordinating major and minor construction, renovation, and repair projects, including reviewing drawings and specifications, preparing cost estimates, scheduling resources, and ensuring work is completed according to plan Working closely with trades staff, user departments, contractors, and external service providers to coordinate maintenance and project activities with minimal disruption to operations Preparing project reports and updates, identifying issues such as delays or non-compliance, and recommending solutions to keep projects on track Supporting operating and capital budget planning, resource allocation, and long-term infrastructure and equipment replacement strategies Preparing sketches, drawings, tender documents, and technical recommendations to support facility improvements and contract award decisions Participating in health and safety, project planning, and labour-management committees while maintaining current knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, codes, and emerging technologies Who We Are: Providence Health Care is building the new St. Paul’s Hospital, a state-of-the-art health campus opening in 2027.
