Job Description: Under the direction of a Program Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Assessor Coordinator provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement."

Experience
- 1 year recognized postgraduate experience in community MHAS
Education
- Recognized degree in Nursing, Social Work, or Addiction Counselling

Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to identify, implement & evaluate areas of client difficulty
- Public relation skills with the ability to maintain effective work relationships
- Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.
- Exp. in mental health & addictions community outreach & crisis interventions
- Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
- Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies
- Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups
- Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation
- Knowledge of Recovery Philosophy
- Able to work independently in a self motivated manner & respond under pressure
- Ability to provide public presentation and professional training.
