Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Community or retail pharmacy. Tasks: Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals. Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication. Check prescriptions for proper dosage. Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients. Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs. Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products . Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians and other staff. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route. Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification.
