Position Overview The Registered Nurse functions as an independent self-directed professional in the delivery of direct patient focused care ensuring the patient is the centre of all planning and decision-making activities related to care delivery.
The Registered Nurse works within the framework of the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics and the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba. Experience
Two years recent PACU/ICU/Day Surgery experience is required.
Pre-Assessment Clinic is preferred in the surgical specialties provided within the program.
Adult and Pediatric experience is preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
Advanced preparation in relevant clinical post-graduate courses may be required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Qualifications and Skills
Must be able to speak French at the pre-determined linguistic level.
Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
Works within the Centre’s core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Ability to function in stressful situations.
Complies with PHIA and FIPPA legislation.
Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.
Physical Requirements
Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
This maternity/parental term may expire sooner than the date indicated, subject to written notice of a minimum two (2) weeks, or one (1) pay period, whichever is longer. This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment. Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.
