Role Description This full-time, on-site Veterinary Technician role is based in Thorold, ON. The Veterinary Technician will support veterinarians in providing medical care, including assisting with examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures, and anesthesia monitoring. Daily responsibilities include handling and restraining animals safely, administering medications as directed, maintaining accurate medical records, and overseeing routine pet care and husbandry. The role also involves communicating with clients, providing clear education about treatment plans, home care, and preventive health, while ensuring a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment. Qualifications Strong Animal Care and Pet Care skills, including safe handling, monitoring, and compassionate support for animals. Proficiency in Veterinary Technology, such as assisting with exams, diagnostics, and treatment procedures. Knowledge of Anesthesiology principles, including preparation, monitoring, and post-anesthesia care under veterinary supervision. Ability to provide effective Client Education, explaining treatment plans, medications, and preventive care in a clear, respectful manner. Diploma or degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field, with registration or eligibility for registration as a Veterinary Technician preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare. Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical setting, including occasional evening or weekend shifts as needed. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is an asset.
