What We Offer:

Qualifications:
- Diploma in Medical Office Assistant strongly preferred
- Previous experience in a medical clinic or healthcare setting is a significant asset
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, especially in science and healthcare
- Strong computer skills, familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) an asset
- Eligible to work in Canada full-time year-round

Your Main Duties Would Be:
- Check-in: Greeting and accurately registering arriving patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner, collecting and providing receipts for payments for non-insured tests, services and products
- Doctor?s Schedule: Responsible for scheduling patient appointments for your assigned doctor; accurately and intuitively communicating urgent and other patient messages to doctors in a timely, professional manner; maintaining patient medical records and confidentiality
- Surgery Slating: Assisting with scheduling cataract and glaucoma surgeries - routine and urgent, managing booking arrangements, preparing and tracking surgical paperwork, scanning and linking documents to patient charts, entering required data into the surgical scheduling system, and completing other related tasks as assigned.
- Phone calls: Operating the office switchboard by responding to incoming calls, taking and relaying messages, communicating general clinic information and responding to emergency calls according to established procedures in a timely, professional and pleasant manner
- Emails: Responding to patient emails in a timely, professional and pleasant manner
- Faxes: Triaging faxes for referrals and prescriptions, etc. in a timely, intuitive manner
- Check-out: Booking patient follow-up appointments, accurately entering billing codes, providing and assisting new surgery patients with necessary paperwork
- Opening and closing the clinic on rotation, performing related tasks as assigned
- Performing other duties within the clinic as assigned from time to time
