• Supervises, trains and inspects the performance of assigned housekeeping staff to ensure all procedures are completed to the unit standard.
• Coordinate and support all relevant activities of the housekeeping department with a special emphasis on infection control and Occupational Health and Safety.
• Follows appropriate policies, procedures, and job routines to meet the needs of the site.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure employees are following proper cleaning procedures, and document audits in an electronic program.
• Ensure assigned staff have reported to work and clocked in properly, and document late or absent employees.
• Document call-offs and replacements for any shift and coordinate assigned staff breaks.
• Prepare and distribute the assignment sheet to staff and review priorities. Communicate additions or changes to the assignment as they arise throughout the shift.
• Assigned designated keys, pagers, and iPads to assigned staff. Maintain an accurate record of such assignments and ensure the security keys.
• Check all equipment used by staff for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness and mechanical problems. Instruct designated personnel to correct deficiencies.
• Assist staff to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and service, and conduct staff training as assigned.

• At least ( 2) years of housekeeping supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of all housekeeping procedures.
• Previous experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, both one-on-one and in group situations
• Ability to work under stressful conditions.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment as a working supervisor.
• Experience with buffing and waxing is a must.
