About the role

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Foot Care Nurse to provide specialized foot care services to patients across various healthcare settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with expertise in managing foot conditions, wound care, and related treatments. This role offers an opportunity to improve patients' quality of life through expert foot health management while working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive foot assessments to identify issues such as infections, wounds, or deformities.
  • Provide specialized foot care treatments, including trimming toenails, callus removal, and wound dressing.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on proper foot hygiene and preventive foot health practices.
  • Document all procedures accurately using electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Manage medication administration related to foot care treatments as prescribed.
  • Assist in managing cases involving patients with complex needs such as dementia, senior care, hospice, or pediatric cases.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest best practices in podiatric and nursing care related to foot health.

Qualifications

  • Valid nursing license with current registration.
  • Prior experience in nursing home, hospital, acute care, or home health settings preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations including seniors, children, or hospice patients is desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and wound management techniques.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner is a plus.
  • Strong patient care skills with excellent communication and empathy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Certification or training in podiatric nursing or related fields is advantageous but not required. Pay: $24.00-$32.00 per hour
