Our team includes over 25 trained professionals, including registered psychotherapists and social workers, who draw from a range of evidence-informed approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. We are looking for a clinician who values depth, consistency, and meaningful clinical work, and who takes pride in contributing to a clear, thorough understanding of each client’s needs through comprehensive assessment and thoughtful interpretation.

You bring a structured and detail-oriented approach to your work, recognizing the importance of accuracy, consistency, and clinical integrity in the assessment process. You approach each case with care, ensuring that your evaluations, formulations, and reports provide meaningful insight that can guide treatment, support planning, and long-term outcomes for individuals and families.

You are both clinically grounded and professionally accountable, able to balance clinical expertise with the organizational and documentation standards required for high-quality care. You take initiative when needed, manage your responsibilities with precision, and approach assessment, reporting, and communication with consistency, clarity, and professionalism.

You value collaboration, ongoing growth, and ethical practice, and engage with the broader clinical team to ensure continuity of care across both Healing Roots Therapy and Healing Roots Health and Wellness. You understand the importance of contributing not only through your assessments, but through how your work supports the overall client experience within the clinic.

Key Responsibilities Psychological & Psychoeducational Assessments

• Conduct psychological and psychoeducational assessments for adults (experience supporting children and adolescents is an asset)

• Assessment areas may include ADHD, learning disabilities, giftedness, executive functioning, diagnostic clarification, and social-emotional functioning

Provide end-to-end assessment services, including: Clinical interviews and records review Administering/scoring (if choose to not have a psychometrist Support) Interpretation and integration of standardized measures Psychological reports and diagnostic letters Feedback sessions with clients and families Collaboration with schools, physicians, and allied professionals as needed

Therapy (Secondary Component) Provide psychotherapy services to clients Experience in couples and family therapy is considered an asset Supervision & Leadership (Optional) Opportunities to supervise training psychologists or psychotherapists, based on interest and capacity Consultation, mentorship, and case review opportunities available Supervision responsibilities are optional and tailored to experience. What You Bring Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, Counselling, or School Psychology or Psychological Associate (Master Degree candidate) Fully registered and in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) Authorized to work in Canada Minimum 5+ years of mental health experience Declared competency in the areas of Clinical Psychology with no restrictions on license to practice Declared competence in Assessment/Evaluation/Intervention Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal, problem solving, and time management skills Proficiency in technology is essential, including familiarity with Electronic Medical Records systems and Microsoft 365 applications Demonstrated experience in clinical interviewing, diagnosis and formulation, consultation; knowledge of typical and atypical lifespan development; experience with a broad range of psychometric tools and principles; and statistical knowledge Comfort working in a contractor role The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Screening Assets: Authorization to conduct ASD assessments Experience with supervision or mentorship Experience in private or multidisciplinary practice Multicultural counselling competence

Availability & Work Structure Availability 3 days a week for about 5 hours each day (15 hours a week) Flexible with your availability Optional weekend availability (1–2 Saturdays/Sundays/month; not required) Practition has option to work in person (not required)

All individuals are unique and experience different challenges throughout life and therefore, the journey towards healing for every client is understood to be uniquely different. We take a client-centred approach when working with clients by encouraging individuals to learn more about themselves and the challenges they may face.

Healing Roots Therapy also holds a value and belief that therapy should be accessible and affordable to everyone for whatever their needs and/or hopes are for therapy. We support this value by offering low-cost therapy to clients where finances present as a barrier to weekly or bi-weekly support.
