Vetspress is an independent veterinary office located in NDG, serving cats, dogs, and their families across Montreal and the Greater Montreal area.

We are seeking a veterinarian to join our growing small animal practice on a full-time or part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate veterinarian who is looking for a supportive clinical environment, a loyal client base, and a healthier work-life balance.

Position Overview The ideal candidate is a small animal veterinarian who is registered in good standing with the Ordre des médecins vétérinaires du Québec (OMVQ). The role involves providing high-quality medical care to cats and dogs, conducting consultations, performing diagnostics, communicating clearly with pet owners, and working collaboratively with the clinic team. Surgical experience, including sterilizations, dental surgery, and other procedures, is considered an asset but is not required.

Responsibilities The veterinarian will be responsible for: Conducting consultations and wellness exams Diagnosing and treating medical conditions in cats and dogs Performing diagnostics and recommending appropriate treatment plans Administering vaccines and preventive care Performing blood tests and interpreting results Providing senior pet care and preventive health guidance Communicating clearly and compassionately with pet owners Providing end-of-life care and euthanasia when appropriate Maintaining accurate medical records

Working collaboratively with veterinary technicians and clinic staff Supporting a compassionate, ethical, and client-focused standard of care Performing sterilizations, dental surgery, and other surgeries, if within the veterinarian’s skill set and comfort level Qualifications The successful candidate must have: Registration in good standing with the OMVQ Advanced English communication skills Minimum intermediate French communication skills Comfort communicating clearly and compassionately with pet owners New graduates are welcome to apply Comfort working with cats and dogs Compassionate, professional, and ethical approach to veterinary care Ability to work independently while also being part of a team Surgical experience, including sterilizations and dental surgery, is an asset but not required Schedule This position may be full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate’s availability and fit. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, with no regular evening or weekend shifts, supporting a healthier work-life balance. Compensation and Benefits Compensation is competitive and based on experience, availability, and scope of practice.
