The Department of Family Medicine, Master Physcian Assistant Studies invites applications for a full-time Research and Scholarship Lead at the rank of Instructor I/Instructor II/Senior Instructor, commencing July 15, 2026, or on a mutually agreed upon date. Salary and rank (if applicable) will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Research and Scholarship Lead is a core MPAS Faculty member and supports the delivery of the didactic and clinical material in MPAS within the formal rules and regulations of the University of Manitoba. In consultation with MPAS colleagues, appropriate clinical and other departments within the Rady Faculty, the MPAS Medical Director, and the Head of the Department of Family Medicine, specific responsibilities include supporting the program's leadership in the development, refinement, and delivery of the MPAS curriculum related to research and scholarly activities. Coordinates and instructs PAEP 7034 Research in Clinical Practice and Capstone workshops. Coordinates capstone presentations including evaluation material and The Capstone Award, Supports other instructional needs in both academic and clinical components of the program in alignment with Accreditation Canada EQual Standards and professional competencies.
The Research and Scholarship Lead is expected to be influential in course design, course delivery, and evaluation as it relates to research and scholarship within the MPAS program.

Qualifications
- Current national certification (Canadian and/or American) as a Physician Assistant.
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
- Education or experience in research, scholarship, or quality improvement
- Manitoba PA licensure (or eligibility) and registration with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, including clinical or classroom teaching.
- Experience with policy development an asset.
