The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Public Relations, the Communications Coordinator takes part in strategic communications planning and implementation, crisis communications and issues management.

As the Communications Coordinator, you work closely with various teams within CapitalCare to support communication and marketing efforts, staying up to date with the latest communication and marketing trends and suggest strategies to increase brand awareness.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Creating written and visual content for use across communications mediums Updating and maintaining the CapitalCare website and intranet Creating and implementating communications plans.

Success in this role is demonstrated by supporting the Communications team to effectively deliver CapitalCare’s story and develop open and inclusive communication processes.

Who You Are

EDUCATION:

Post-Secondary diploma or certificate in communications, public relations, journalism, broadcasting, English, or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years related experience. Experience coordinating advertising, publications, and events. Website maintenance, development, and design. An equivalent combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.

RELATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:

Knowledge of media trends, social analytics, and digital tools and platforms to continuously improve effectiveness of intranet and corporate website (i.e., Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Red Dot, website SEO and CMS). Ability to provide timely, accurate and professional communication services consistent with CapitalCare’s protocols in all mediums to support the organization’s strategic direction. Strong, effective, and creative communicator, across mediums: visual, written and digital. High computer and digital media literacy; proficient in design/publishing, video/ photography, email marketing programs. Solid research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Knows Canadian Press Style Guide. Self-motivated, organized, results-oriented, effective time manager; thrives in fast-paced environment. Superior interpersonal skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Strong consulting and project management skills. Natural relationship builder, problem solver and confident decision-maker. Proficient with the English Language.
