About the role
The Registered Nurse will work as part of the interdisciplinary team within the McMaster Children's Hospital Program with specific responsibility within the Neonatal Transport.
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
- Advanced Module in Neonatal Care
- NRP Certification, Instructors preferred
- Recent (minimum of 1 year within the last 2 years) experience as an Assistant Transport Nurse on the Neonatal Transport Team or previous experience as a Transport Nurse
- Demonstrated experience and ability in teaching utilizing adult learning principles
- Demonstrated exceptional assessment and critical thinking skills and the ability to manage rapid changes in a patients condition
- Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill newborns and their families within the neonatal unit and community settings
- Demonstrated excellent communication, teamwork and conflict management skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform well in critical high stress situations
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Current BCLS certification and Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred
- Previous leadership experience preferred
