Clinical Manager, Obstetrics & Gynecology Inpatient Units and Newborn Assessment Post Discharge Clinic
About the role
Reporting to the Director, The Clinical Manager functions according to the Accountability Statement for Clinical Managers. In a manner consistent with the vision, values and strategic goals of Hamilton Health Sciences, the Clinical Manager is accountable for managing all activities related to safe, efficient patient care delivery at the unit level. The Clinical Manager is accountable for integrating into their clinical area(s) the organization’s practice standards related to the following domains: quality patient care, fiscal management, human resource management, communications, education and research, and strategic planning. The Clinical Manager fosters an environment where people are engaged. The Clinical Manager influences behaviours in order to support the delivery of high quality patient care. The Clinical Manager engineers processes that ensures continued quality improvement, optimizes future positioning and translates unit, program, and corporate objectives to their respective clinical areas.
- Baccalaureate degree in a healthcare discipline or related field
- Current registration in the province of Ontario within a regulated health profession
- Demonstrated effective leadership and management skills with a minimum of three years recent and relevant clinical leadership experience in a hospital setting
- Evidence of commitment to continuing education through formal or other educational endeavours
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, team-building and the ability to initiate and model positive change
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging and collaborative environment with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands and priorities with flexibility and critical thinking
- Experience in effectively coaching and mentoring individuals and teams including strong conflict management skills
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation in the planning and delivery of patient care services
