About the role
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, providing exceptional patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of pharmacy services. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient interaction, with previous hospital or pharmacy technician experience preferred. The Registered Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting patient health and safety through accurate medication management and compassionate service.
Duties
- Prepare and dispense prescribed medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Assist with medication inventory management, including stocking and labeling supplies
- Provide patient care by answering questions about medications and instructions
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness in compliance with legal and safety standards
- Maintain detailed records of medication dispensing and patient interactions
- Support medication administration processes within hospital settings as needed
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, including proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Skills
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a hospital pharmacy setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in prescription processing
- Compassionate patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools is a plus
