Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, promoting oral health, and supporting the overall operations of our dental team. Duties
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Assist in diagnosing periodontal issues and recommend appropriate treatments
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Ensure a clean, sterile, and organized clinical environment in compliance with OSHA standards
- Support pediatric patients with gentle care and effective communication strategies
- Assist with orthodontic procedures when necessary and support orthodontic patients' needs
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns professionally
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist
- Proven experience working in a dental office setting; experience with Dentrix is preferred
- Knowledge of dental procedures, medical terminology, and infection control protocols
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
- Experience in pediatric dentistry or orthodontics is desirable but not required
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming environment for patients
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients
