How you can help and what we can accomplish together As our Staff Psychiatrist, you will be a key clinical leader, entrusted to conduct comprehensive assessments and provide expert medical oversight for our patients. Your clinical judgment will be essential in determining patient eligibility for our ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) programs. Together, we can provide a critical and validated treatment option for those in need, operating within the highest standards of medical care and compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive initial psychiatric and physical health evaluations to diagnose conditions and assess suitability for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP).

Exercise sound clinical judgment to determine patient eligibility for treatment, ensuring they meet specific diagnostic and safety criteria.

Develop, monitor, and adjust individualized treatment plans in collaboration with our interdisciplinary care team.

Prescribe and manage controlled medications in strict compliance with clinic protocols, federal regulations, and provincial psychedelic treatment standards.

Provide ongoing psychiatric follow-up care to monitor patient progress and treatment response.

Ensure all patient encounters and decisions are documented accurately and completely in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Provide expert psychiatric consultation and guidance to our therapy and nursing teams during clinical rounds.
Qualifications and Skills
-
Active, in-good-standing practice permit with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
-
Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) in Psychiatry, or equivalent.
-
Minimum of 2-4 years of independent psychiatric practice.
-
Substantial clinical experience in mental health care, including the assessment and treatment of complex psychiatric disorders.
-
Practical experience and expertise in psychedelic medicine, including familiarity with the pharmacology and therapeutic applications of psychedelics.
-
Completion of specialized training or certifications in psychedelic-assisted therapy protocols is highly desirable.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
