BrainStim Health is a leading national provider of advanced mental health and neurostimulation treatments, specializing in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Ketamine?Assisted Therapy, and integrative neuroscience?based care. We are dedicated to expanding access to evidence?based treatments for depression, PTSD, OCD, chronic pain, and other psychiatric and neurological conditions through innovative clinical programs and digital platforms.
We are currently seeking a TMS Technician to join our Edmonton clinic, located within the Brick House Recovery Centre, as we continue expanding our national network of neuromodulation services.
*Position Summary *
The Neuromodulation TMS Technician is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality TMS treatments under the supervision of a psychiatrist or designated clinician. This role involves preparing patients for sessions, operating TMS devices, monitoring treatment response and safety, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and passionate about advancing mental health care through cutting-edge neuromodulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer TMS treatments in accordance with established clinical protocols and physician orders.
- Set up and calibrate TMS equipment daily; perform coil positioning, motor threshold determinations, and treatment parameter checks.
- Monitor patients throughout treatment for side effects, adverse reactions, and emotional well-being; escalate clinical concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate clinical records including treatment logs, session notes, and incident reports within the EMR.
- Educate patients about TMS procedures, expected outcomes, and post-treatment care instructions.
- Assist in patient intake and screening processes, including administering rating scales (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, and other tools).
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and therapists to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of TMS equipment; coordinate service and calibration with device vendors.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, privacy, and safety protocols.
- Support clinic operations including patient scheduling, room preparation, and workflow coordination.
*Qualifications *
Required:
- Post-secondary education in neuroscience, psychology, nursing, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
- Comfort working with medical equipment and digital health records.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Preferred:
- Prior experience as a TMS Technician, EEG/EMG technologist, or in mental health / neuromodulation settings.
- Familiarity with BrainsWay TMS systems.
- Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) and outcome measurement tools.
- Training in trauma-informed care or mental health first aid.
Working Conditions
- Outpatient clinical setting.
- Typically Monday?Friday, 8-hour shifts.
- position will begin at 24 hours per week, with the opportunity to transition to full?time as clinic needs grow.
- May require flexibility for evening or weekend sessions depending on patient load.

- Hourly rate: $23-$25/hour (depending on experience ).
