The team offers comprehensive services including diagnostic imaging, blood work, genetic counselling and testing, embryology and andrology services, and 2SLGBTQIA+ family planning. Patients have access to both funded and non-funded treatments such as IUI, IVF, egg freezing, sperm freezing, and donor and surrogacy programs, supported by one of the most comprehensive genetic counselling programs in the country. Services are conveniently accessible from Markham and multiple satellite locations in Ontario, with continued expansion planned.

Role Description The Certified Physician Assistant at Markham Fertility Centre will provide direct clinical support to physicians and the multidisciplinary care team in an on-site, full-time role based in Markham, ON. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, obtaining medical histories, performing focused physical examinations, and assisting in the coordination of fertility treatment plans. The role involves ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests within scope, documenting encounters in the electronic medical record, and supporting procedures such as IUI and IVF-related visits under physician supervision. The Physician Assistant will provide patient education on treatment options, medications, and follow-up care, while collaborating closely with nursing, laboratory, and counselling teams to ensure safe, compassionate, and efficient care. Participation in quality improvement initiatives, adherence to regulatory and clinic protocols, and contribution to a supportive, inclusive environment are also key aspects of the position.

Qualifications Current certification as a Physician Assistant (e.g., recognized PA program completion and appropriate national or provincial certification/licensure) and eligibility to practice in Ontario. Clinical experience in reproductive medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, or related women’s health fields, or strong interest and willingness to develop specialization in fertility care. Demonstrated skills in patient assessment, medical history-taking, focused physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic tests within established scope of practice. Strong ability to educate and counsel patients on treatment plans, procedures, medications, and lifestyle considerations in a clear, empathetic, and culturally sensitive manner. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurate documentation in electronic medical records and effective collaboration with physicians, nurses, lab teams, and other health professionals. Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory care, with sensitivity to diverse family structures, 2SLGBTQIA+ patients, and individuals using donor or surrogacy pathways. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple patients and tasks
