Role Description The Medical Doctor will provide full-spectrum family medicine care, including conducting patient assessments, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, and performing routine health examinations. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications and treatments, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals. The physician will provide preventive care, health education, and counseling to support patients in managing lifestyle factors and long-term health. Duties also include documenting encounters in the medical record, following clinic policies and regulatory standards, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON, requiring regular in-person patient care during clinic hours. Qualifications Valid medical degree (MD or equivalent) and completion of accredited residency in family medicine or general practice. Current licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Proficiency in diagnosing and managing common primary care conditions, including chronic disease management and preventive care. Strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and evidence-based practice skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to maintain accurate, timely medical documentation and familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Commitment to patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, and maintaining professional ethics and confidentiality. Organizational skills to manage a full-time clinical schedule and handle multiple patient cases efficiently. CPR and basic life support certification; additional emergency or advanced life support training is an asset. Experience in a family medicine or community clinic setting is preferred but not required for highly motivated early-career physicians.
