About the role
*POSITION: * FOOD SERVICE SUPERVISOR
REPORTS TO: Food Service Manager
ROLE
The Food Service Supervisor is both a clinical and customer focused role. The FSS is responsible for supervising the Food Service team to insure Food safety and Ministry standards are being met. Supporting to ensure that the nutritional needs of each resident are met, promoting an inclusive and person centered approach.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited Nutrition Management program or a bachelor?s degree program with a major in foods and nutrition
- Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) or in the College of Dietitians of Ontario
Experience
- A minimum of three (3) years recent work experience with varied responsibilities for clinical, administrative and supervisory duties, preferably in a long term care or retirement community
- Demonstrated leadership; decision making; problem solving and communication skills
- Working knowledge of MOHLTC standards, Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act 2021
- Working knowledge of health and safety, employment and human rights legislation
- Working knowledge of food and sanitation standards

- Assist in the management of food service staff, providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Monitor food preparation and service to maintain standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness
- Participate in menu planning and inventory management, ensuring availability of supplies
- Support the implementation of health and safety protocols across food service operations
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance service efficiency and customer experience
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns, providing effective solutions to enhance satisfaction
- Complete nutritional assessments following interRAI
- Maintaining dietary documentation
- Conducting monthly resident diet accuracy audits
- Conducting daily pleasurable dining audits
- Conducting Weekly Resident meal surveys
- Updating and printing departmental documentation/labels/diet census etc.
- Receiving RD updates and updating all relevant information/documents
- Maintaining/updating resident dining room diagrams

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
