Bridge to Care Inc is a Faith-based Not for Profit Healthcare Organization that provides senior care and childcare services to families who have children/young adults with autism.

You will work collaboratively with the family and Program Coordinator to develop and implement strategies to help the clients overcome significant physical, cognitive and behavioural challenges. You will have the freedom to propose and design appropriate activities and will work one-on-one with the client in their homes, as well as public settings as appropriate.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Participates in conducting behavioural assessments
• Experience with Medication Administration, Lifting, Client screenings, taking Vital Signs, Light Housekeeping
• Knowledge of Individual Support Plans
• Supervise and ensure the safety of the senior client at all times
• Provide extra support as needed, monitor and assist with taxing tasks
• Light housekeeping, meal prep, medication Administration
• Engagement in social activities, accompany client to events and activities
• Monitors and evaluates care as provided, Companion care.
• Communicate effectively as required for taking direction and performing job-related activities, both verbally and non-verbally
• Participates in in-service education as required
• Ensures that all activities are carried out in a manner to reduce risk of injury to individual and staff
• Participates in other work-related duties as outlined by his/her manager

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid Health Care Aide certification
• Patience and temperament to work with seniors on various levels, preferably experienced with caring for Quadriplegic patients
• Experience with Disability care
• Experience with senior care or special needs
• Valid driver?s license with a good driving record
• Canada work authorization
• Submit to a background check
• First Aid and CPR level C
• Reliable Vehicle for Commute
• 2 million liability on Vehicle Insurance
