Pay Range Base Salary: $70,000- $87,000 (commensurate with experience) We are looking for: HealthCare Facilities Supervisor Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the HealthCare Facilities Supervisor will oversee building operations and maintenance across VHA’s portfolio of properties and leased premises. The supervisor is responsible for vendor and supplies management; capital and operational budget management related to facilities; maintaining an up-to-date emergency response protocol for each location; adherence to health and safety codes, and coordinating projects/renovations to ensure safe, efficient, compliant environments for patients, staff and tenants. The PPE Coordinator will report directly into this role. #LI-PI1 Key Areas of Accountability: The HealthCare Facilities Supervisor will be required to do the following tasks, but not limited to: Adams House Facilities Operations & Maintenance Supervise the operation, inspection, and maintenance of key infrastructure of 423/425 Sherbourne Street (HVAC systems, Electrical and plumbing systems, Emergency power, etc.) Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are executed effectively Coordinate repairs and service requests with Cota Health to minimize downtime for tenants Coordinate with external vendors, service providers Prepare and issue rent increase notifications and coordinate with finance and administration to ensure proper implementation of rent adjustments Safety Plans & Risk Management - develop, implement, and maintain key safety plans (Fire safety plans, Emergency response and evacuation plans, Business continuity and disaster recovery plans, etc.) Leased Clinic and Office Facilities Operations Coordinate repairs and service requests with clinic operations, property management and/or landlord to minimize downtime and interruptions Maintain facility cleanliness, ensure infection prevention controls are integrated into facility operations Coordinate with external vendors and service providers Manage leasing contracts by monitoring expiry dates and leading lease negotiations Regulatory Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., accreditation bodies, occupational safety) Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and certifications Member of the Health & Safety committee to oversee fire safety systems, emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures and other facility related plans Capital Projects & Renovations Support planning and execution of facility upgrades, renovations, and expansions Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and architects Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards Ensure minimal disruption to operations during projects Budgeting & Cost Management Assist in preparing facility operating and capital budgets Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities Manage contracts and service agreements Ensure efficient use of resources and materials Emergency Response & Business Continuity Act as a key responder during emergencies (e.g., power outages, system failures, disasters) Participate in emergency drills and incident response planning (member of EMPC) Required Qualifications: Diploma or degree in a technical/facilities field 5+ years in facilities management, preferably in Healthcare or regulated environments Relevant safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, OSHA, fire safety) Strong knowledge of building systems and infrastructure Understanding of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure Project management and organizational skills Knowledge of safety, infection control, and risk management Familiarity with healthcare regulations and safety standards What makes VHA’s compensation unique?
