About the role
Leisure Living Retirement Home and its employees believe in the philosophy that all residents should have the opportunity to live with joy, purpose and well-being. We are looking for a Recreation Manager who shares that philosophy.
Duties include: participates in the initial orientation of new residents including the assessment of their interests and hobbies.
Ensures supplies and setup for daily activities.
Plans, schedules and implements a full range of programs to meet resident needs in consultation with residents.
Identifies and encourages opportunities for residents to share their special skills, interests and stories.
Prepares a newsletter and calendar of activities monthly which includes special events, outings and community involvement.
Communicates activities to residents, staff and families. Supports resident meetings including minute taking.
Maintains a positive image of the home through ongoing communications with the community and local media.
Organizes and supervises a volunteer program.
Qualifications: a college diploma in recreation and/or relevant experience preferred. If you have a genuine passion for senior care and want a career where you can make a positive difference in residents lives, please apply.
