We're looking for a compassionate Mental Health Worker to join our team. Working alongside Program Supervisors, Clinical staff, families, and community partners, you'll provide therapeutic support that helps children and youth build confidence, develop life skills, and reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Build positive, supportive relationships with children and youth.
- Implement individualized support and behaviour plans.
- Support emotional regulation, coping skills, and healthy daily routines.
- Respond to challenging behaviours using trauma-informed, person-centred practices.
- Accompany clients to school, appointments, recreational activities, and community outings using Hollyburn fleet vehicles.
- Collaborate with families, schools, clinicians, and community partners.
- Complete progress notes, documentation, and incident reports within established timelines.
- Assist with meal preparation, household routines, personal care, and daily living skills as required.
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive home environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Child & Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
- Experience supporting children and youth with mental health, behavioural, or developmental needs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive during challenging situations.
- Commitment to trauma-informed, strength-based, and person-centred practice.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and electronic documentation.
Requirements
- Valid B.C. Class 5 driver's licence with the ability to transport clients using Hollyburn fleet vehicles.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification or willingness to obtain through Hollyburn.
- MANDT Certification or willingness to obtain through Hollyburn.
- Successful Criminal Record Check.
Working Conditions
- Location: Burnaby
- Work Arrangement: On-site
- Hours: 40 hours per week, Sunday – 9am to 5pm, Mon, Tues, Wed – 7am to 3pm, Thurs – 3pm to 11pm
