Logistics Technician Health Services – Peel Regional Paramedic Services Status: Up to 12 Contract Part Time (12 Months) Hourly Range: $25.12 – $30.95 per hour Starting Range: $25.12 per hour Work Mode: Onsite Location: Fernforest Paramedic Station, 1600 Bovaird Drive E., Brampton, and various locations within Peel Region (Brampton, Mississauga, and Caledon) Hours of Work: Various 12-hour shifts based on rotation, Monday to Sunday, no guarantee of hours You must provide twenty-one (21) shifts of availability per month - 60 days in advance To maintain employment status, you must work at least four (4) shifts bi-weekly Initial training schedule can be up to ten weeks, and include a combination of full week in class sessions and weekly rotation Join Our Team – Make a Difference Every Day! About Us: Peel Regional Paramedic Services (PRPS) provides high‑quality emergency and non‑emergency paramedic care to the communities of Brampton, Mississauga, and Caledon. The department of Health Services Logistics Team is an integral member of Peel Regional Paramedic Services whose primary mission is to save lives, decrease suffering as well as to improve and promote community safety. What you will do in this role: Equipment decontamination, equipment maintenance, production of supplies kits, vehicle cleaning and restocking, receiving and warehousing, and related quality assurance and quality control measures to assist compliance with Provincial Acts and Regulations, Municipal By-laws, Regional Policies and Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) Certification standards Clean and sanitize contaminated uniforms, ambulances and emergency response vehicles including removal of garbage from vehicles, bodily fluids, etc. Prepare vehicle, equipment and supplies in support of Peel Regional Paramedic Services Conduct periodic inventory and supply audits as needed Replace/remove vehicle inventories including, but not limited to, linen, oxygen tanks, supplies, and medical waste Perform vehicle inspections and minor repairs and complete vehicle repair documentation Identify vehicles and equipment scheduled for preventative maintenance and remove/replace from service Clean, maintain, repair, and test equipment in a timely manner Exchange defective equipment and record replacement transactions Perform roll out of new products, product trials, and product recalls within the system Perform outbound shipment preparation, inbound shipment inspection, receipt, and storage Input data to maintain database records including, inventory movement, equipment inspections and maintenance and vehicle inspection and maintenance Maintain positive working relationships with Paramedic staff Perform general housekeeping duties as required within garage and work site What the role requires: High school diploma with requisite experience Training for industry-specific equipment maintenance and repair, such as conveyance equipment and oxygen equipment testing would an asset Minimum two (2) years of experience in a warehouse and material handling environment including shipping and receiving Hands-on experience in a production or assembly environment would be an asset Knowledge of emergency medical services products would be an asset Ability and willingness to work various shifts in a fast-paced environment under minimum supervision Must have Class G license in good standing A satisfactory Level 2 Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted) Skills/Abilities: General mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills Excellent communication and time management skills including the ability to multi-task effectively and manage changing priorities Exceptional customer service skills Self-motivated and able to act on own initiative using good judgment and discretion Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias Perks @ Peel and why you will love working for us: Supportive leadership and a culture of respect and inclusion Access to tuition reimbursement (where applicable) and learning and development resources Be bold.
