About the role

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment. Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort. Perform other duties related to personal care. Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Maintain inventory of supplies. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Answer call signals to determine patients' needs. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Sound discrimination. Standing for extended periods. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs). Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Excellent oral communication.
