Nursing & Healthcare Opportunities (RN, LPN & HCA) – Rural Alberta Contract Assignments Location: Rural Alberta (North, Central, and South Zones) Employment Type: Short-Term Contract Assignments About the Opportunity Hines Health Services (HHS) is recruiting Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Health Care Aides (HCAs) to support temporary staffing needs within Alberta's healthcare system. We are seeking dedicated healthcare professionals committed to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in a variety of healthcare settings. Successful candidates may be assigned to one or more of the following clinical practice areas: General Care Streams Medical Care Surgical Care Continuing Care Congregate Care Long-Term Care Supportive Living Specialized Care Streams Emergency Care Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Critical Care High Observation Unit As valued members of the healthcare team, successful candidates will work collaboratively to support patient care, promote health and wellness, and contribute to positive patient outcomes. Compensation & BenefitsHealth Care Aides (HCA) $25.00 – $30.00 per hour Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) General Care: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour Specialized Critical Care (15+ years experience): $40.00 – $43.00 per hour Registered Nurses (RN) General Care: $55.00 – $70.00 per hour Specialized Critical Care (15+ years experience): $70.00 – $78.00 per hour Additional Benefits Flights provided Accommodations provided $75 daily per diem Overtime pay Paid travel mileage Paid travel time (up to 7.5 hours at $50/hour) Rental vehicle may be available depending on assignment location Required Qualifications – Health Care Aide (HCA) Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide Certificate Program. Alberta Health Care Aide Directory registration (or eligibility). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred. Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. Proof of required immunizations, including Rubella vaccination. Previous healthcare experience considered an asset. Required Qualifications – Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Completion of a recognized Licensed Practical Nurse program. Current registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP). Vulnerable Sector Search. Proof of required immunizations, including Rubella vaccination. Required Qualifications – Registered Nurse (RN) Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse or Bachelor of Nursing program. Active registration and practice permit, or eligibility for registration, with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP). Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. Proof of Rubella vaccination. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in medical, surgical, continuing care, emergency, ICU, critical care, long-term care, or supportive living settings. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Charge Nurse experience considered an asset. Current and clean Driver's Abstract. Ability to complete site-specific orientation requirements. Willingness to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Additional Qualifications for Specialized Critical Care Assignments Candidates applying for Emergency, ICU, Critical Care, or High Observation Unit placements may be required to possess: Minimum three years of nursing experience, including recent critical care experience. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Orientation Program for Adult Critical Care in Alberta (OPACA) certification. Adult Critical Care Nursing Certification (CNA Certification). Experience with: Hemodynamic monitoring Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Defibrillation Intravenous vasoactive medications Anti-arrhythmics, vasopressors, and inotropes Neuromuscular blockade administration Transvenous pacemakers Intravenous push medication administration Additional Information Current Alberta Health Services (AHS) employees are not eligible for these opportunities. Hines Health Services is seeking to fill temporary contract assignments to support short-term healthcare staffing needs across Alberta. All successful candidates are hired as employees of Hines Health Services. Independent contractor arrangements are not available. Applicants must meet all licensing, immunization, reference, and pre-employment requirements, including current certifications, Vulnerable Sector Search, and N95 fit testing where required. Placements are competitive, and final selection is made by the Provincial Health Authority.
