You will be expected to maintain competency through ongoing professional development. As a member of the casual relief team, you will work shifts in Mackenzie Place Continuing Care Home Type B units, and the Enhanced Care Unit (ECU)). The Type B units provide clients with a home where they can enjoy privacy and independence with the comfort of knowing their health and personal care supports are on-site when needed. The ECU is a dynamic environment that is designed to meet the needs of individuals who present with a combination of dementia syndrome and complex behavioral issues. Residents may exhibit challenging, unpredictable responsive behaviors which require enhanced staffing expertise to provide care and oversight. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the organization's shared vision and values. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Requirements

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program and active or eligible registration with a practice permit as an LPN with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta are required. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support for Health Care Provider certification is also required.
