Description: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization. Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse Union: AUPE AUX Unit and Program: Unit 5E3, Medicine Primary Location: U of A Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 05-OCT-2026 Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Benefits Date Available: 15-OCT-2026 Temporary End Date: 19-APR-2027 Hours per Shift: 11.25 Length of Shift in weeks: 24 Shifts per cycle: 84 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $33.16 Maximum Salary: $43.42 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Ability to work to full scope of practice. Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team. A current resume must be attached to your application. Applications submitted without a resume will not be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum two (2) years recent acute care nursing experience preferred. Recent General Internal Medicine experience preferred. Experience caring for medically complex patients preferred. Connect Care experience preferred. Assisted with patient flow coordination while working independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment Able to work independently to support and improve patient flow throughout clinical operations.

Requirements
Applicants must complete an accredited practical nurse education program, hold or be eligible for an Alberta LPN practice permit, and have current BCLS-HCP certification. They must work to their full scope of practice and collaborate effectively; recent acute care, General Internal Medicine, medically complex patient care, and Connect Care experience are preferred.
