Your Opportunity: Are you a Registered Nurse looking for a seasonal medical float opportunity within a busy acute regional hospital? This might be the opportunity for you. We are currently recruiting for our medical inpatient program to support increased seasonal patient capacity. We care for a vast inpatient population with complex and diverse medical needs. In this role you will provide compassionate and professional services to patients and their families, while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that focuses on safe and individualized care in accordance with AHS values. Description: As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable. Classification: Registered Nurse Union: United Nurses of Alberta Unit and Program: Medical Float Primary Location: Red Deer Regional Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: At (UNA only) FTE: 0.74 Posting End Date: 08-OCT-2026 Temporary Employee Class: Temp P/T Benefits Date Available: 18-OCT-2026 Temporary End Date: 31-MAY-2027 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 4 Shifts per cycle: 14 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $44.56 Maximum Salary: $60.98 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess minimum: Recent acute care Medical/surgical experience. Basic computer skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Proven competence in relevant technical nursing skills. Demonstrated responsibility to maintaining own continuing competence and willingness to learn new skills through Professional Development activities. Ability to work shifts and meet the physical requirement of the job. New graduates will also be considered. Requirements

Applicants must complete an accredited nursing education program, hold or be eligible for an active practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta, and have current BCLS-HCP certification. Recent acute medical-surgical experience is preferred, though new graduates may be considered; candidates should also demonstrate communication, interpersonal, technical nursing, computer, and continuing-competence skills and be able to work rotating shifts.
