Follow the link for details: Hospital Services – St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital [https://www.stegh.on.ca/hospital-services/] WHAT YOU MUST HAVE: * Registered Nurse, currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario * Graduate of a BSc in Nursing or education and experience that allows the RN to practice at full scope * Current BLS Certification * Proven assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation skills related to acute medical nursing with the ability to work independently, utilizing critical thinking skillset * Basic computer skills (Outlook email, Cerner, Electronic Patient Record) * Capability to administer medication inclusive of IV medication administration, with a physician’s order * Ability to assess, adapt and respond within a constantly changing environment * Demonstrated commitment to ongoing/continuous professional development * Excellent attendance record in alignment with STEGH’s attendance policy * Acceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH’s mission, vision, values and code of conduct WHAT WE PREFER YOU HAVE: * One (1) year of Continuing Care experience within the last three (3) years * Continuing education in geriatric nursing * Certificates in: Palliative Care Fundamentals (Level 1), Gentle Persuasive Approaches, Crisis Intervention HOURS: The successful candidate must be available to work all tours applicable to the department in accordance with the availability and non-availability requirements outlined in the ONA Collective Agreement. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required to meet the operational needs of the department. Requirements
Candidates must be a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and hold a BSc in Nursing or equivalent experience. A current BLS certification and proficiency in electronic patient record systems are required.
