Department/Unit/Program Description The 4th Floor Surgical Unit is comprised of both medical and surgical patients which have various complexities such as CHF, COPD, bowel obstructions to general medicine cases. The surgical cases range from orthopedics, general surgery, eye, women’s health and urology. RN's need to have coronary care as telemetry is also on the unit. *** Ross Memorial Hospital qualifies for the Government of Canada's Student Loan Forgiveness Program. Nurses may be eligible to receive up to $30,000 in Canada Student Loan forgiveness *** Position Summary The Surgical 4th Floor Unit is currently seeking a Temporary Full-Time Registered Nurse to join their healthcare team. Effective Date: October 19, 2026 Ending on or Before: January 10, 2027 Essential Qualifications Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards Current C.P.R. Certification essential, on hire Current I.V. Therapy and Medications certification essential Coronary Care 1 at a post graduate level or position is conditional upon obtaining within six months of hire – online Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with all levels of staff, patients and the public Demonstrated good communication, organizational and time management skills Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis Preferred Qualifications BScN Epic trained or ability to train and pass testing Hours of Work Must be available to work twelve hour day and night shifts, Monday to Sunday. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA collective agreement. Requirements
Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario with current CPR and I.V. Therapy certifications. A BScN and Epic training are preferred, along with the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
